Design History Album Cover

For the second project of my Page Layout class, I was tasked with creating an album cover for a musical artist but the application of the art style of a past artist/designer. This was to further teach me proper layout and typographic form and to understand how other artists utilized their tools to create amazing designs.

To understand Postmodern design, I picked the artist April Greiman for my inspiration. She was one of the first artists to fully embrace the computer as a design tool, and it shows in her digitized graphics and bold layout and colors. Working on the graphics was rewarding but creating these was time-consuming and I had to be meticulous about every element. It was quite educational because I had to learn the proper workflow to get every design element together.
